Bentley Motors was founded by Walter Owen Bentley in the 1910’s and produced aircraft engines and high powered sports cars during the 1920’s. The company was taken over in 1931 by Rolls Royce. This was a partnership which would see each brand strive from strength to strength for several decades.
Bentley is now another of the great British car making brands that is unfortunately no longer in British hands, being owned by the VW group and split away from the Rolls Royce brand which is now owned by BMW.
